Halloween Night Treats

In this season of life i have to keep the celebrating simple! Like deliver groceries from amazon, we assemble then party! So here are a couple of my fave recipes for halloween night and how to plan ahead to make it super spooky and super simple!

Mummy Dogs:

Immaculate Crescent Rolls (or pillsbury)

Hot Dogs

Candy Eyes

Ketchup

Open the crescent rolls and smoosh (really professional description) together the two triangle pieces to make a square.  With a knife or a pastry cutter, cut the pastry into long skinny strips. Cut your hot dogs in half if you have toddlers or assemble them whole. Twist the pastry strip around the hot dog to wrap like a mummy.  Bake the mummy dogs for ¾ of the time it says to bake the rolls. And just keep checking on them until they look light golden brown. Once cooled down, squirt ketchup onto the face of the mummy and add eyes. And your’e done! Tell the kids to eat the eyes first! :)

Halloween Bark:

This is my FAVE recipe from my girl Jessica Garvin. If you haven’t tried this, its so easy. I literally ordered the groceries from amazon and we whipped this up ahead of time.  We even delivered this to some friends to “boo” them the week of halloween.

From jess: “ On a huge sheet of tin foil, lay out pretzel sticks & chex rice cereal. Melt a tray of white almond bark, and drizzle half of it over the first layer of snacks. Then, layer on a bag of white popcorn (we use orville redenbacher tender white, the best popcorn ever!) onto the mixture while the bark is still wet, drizzle the second half of the tray on top, and sprinkle with toppings of your choice. Like candy eyeballs, sprinkles, candy corn, colored m&ms, chocolate chips, etc. Let the entire thing harden (maybe 15-20 minutes) and then break it apart into chunks to place in a bowl for serving. It is so yummy and SO addicting!!!”

Spider Brownies

I originally found this recipe on pinterest and it’s so dang easy! Grab your favorite brownie mix, divide it into muffin tins but spray with coconut oil first and make sure its covered well.  THen once cooled, cover the tops with white icing. Take black icing in a small tube and draw 3-4 circles inside each other. Take a tooth pick and drag the black icing from the center to the outside to make the spider web connect.  Top with a plastic spider. And you’re done!

Cookies

If you’re in Nashville, you HAVE to go by baked on 8th.  They have the best holiday and seasonal cookies they hand design.  It’s first come first serve so we went the day before halloween and even grabbed some gf options for our friends! So adorable!

Table Scape

I used this table runner bc i couldn’t handle the cuteness.  I’ll pull it out for fun events and it’s a fun touch. The roll i bought was local but this one is similar.

Also black tapered dripless candles are a must.  It keeps it moody and spooky! Best combo!

For the Kids

It was supposed to rain and be freezing cold on halloween so we had a backup plan of halloween easter egg hunting.  Grab these if the weather is bad and the kids will love it.

Glow sticks to keep track of your kiddos in the dark. Also they all look the same so it’s easier to spot which kids are yours.
